Welcome to the Association of Prevention Professionals.
Please consider joining us in developing an Association to prioritize, amplify and elevate Prevention Professionals. We are creating an association where you can participate, contribute and belong to a community of like-minded professionals who understands and believes in prevention.
4 Core Pillars of the Association:
- Proactive Stewardship: Shifting from reactive crisis management to proactive health promotion.
- Professional Advancement: Elevating the stature and compensation of Certified Prevention Professionals.
- Systemic Advocacy: Lobbying for dedicated funding and policy integration at all levels of government.
- Collaborative Growth: Creating a unified “Prevention is Better Together” network for mentorship, data sharing, and resource archiving.
Prevention Professionals work within the frameworks of the Public Health Model (Agent, Host, and Environment) and Risk & Protective Factor Theory (Individual, Family, and Community).
We focus on in promoting all areas of health (8 Dimensions) and are guided by the belief preventing a mental, emotional or behavioral health disorder is better than allowing it to progress into a chronic disease requiring a lifetime of treatment and maintenance.
Prevention Professionals build communities where fewer people need treatment, fewer families experience loss, and more individuals reach their full potential. Without prevention, we are left reacting to crises. Evidence has shown that for each dollar spent in prevention society can save between seven to ten dollars in future costs related to healthcare, criminal justice, lost productivity, and treatment.
